CB West blanks Pennridge, gets to 6-0

EAST ROCKHILL >> Central Bucks West scored on its first four possessions and kept Pennridge out of the end zone all night.

Already off to their best start since 2000, the Bucks charged to 6-0.

“It’s a statement win,” said running back Jack Fallon. “We still have a lot to improve on, definitely. But every win is a special win. And to come in here to a really good, tough Pennridge team, and come out of here with a shutout, that’s a statement.”

With the 35-0 victory, West is now a perfect 3-0 in the Suburban One League Continental Conference, dominating on both sides of the ball. On just their third offensive play of the evening, Fallon took the handoff, found a lane, and was off to a 78-yard touchdown run.

“I think that set the tone,” Fallon said. “I saw the hole and I hit it and that set the energy for the rest of the game. From that point on, we brought it.”

PILING UP

Fallon gained 168 yards on the night and scored twice, his six-yard burst in the second quarter lifting the lead to 21-0.

A lot of good things are adding up for West.

“A 6-0 start is crazy,” Fallon said, “but we go with the philosophy of going 1-0 each week, and that’s what’s gonna happen. You end up piling up wins.”

Fallon led a diverse ground game for the Bucks.

“That’s our identity,” coach Rob Rowan said. “That’s what we hang our hats on. We believe in our offensive line and we believe in our backs and ultimately we believe in our system.

“Our guys came out and executed. They came out and executed in the first half, and in the second half, not so much. We wanna continue to execute at a high level.”

Quarterback Jack Neri found Nick Tumolo for a 14-yard touchdown and Neri later nudged his way in for a one-yard sneak, providing the Bucks a 28-0 lead at the break.

The only score of the second half was Joshua Jackson’s six-yard rushing TD.

PENNRIDGE KEEPS COMING

The Rams (1-5, 0-3 conference) are in the midst of a tough season, but continue to challenge opponents.

Jack Ferguson broke free for a 50-yard run two plays into the contest. The drive came to a close, however, on an interception by Fallon.

“They’re tough,” Rowan said of the Rams. “They have really good players over there. Cody’s gonna do a tremendous job over there. There’s no doubt they’ll bounce back.”
