Despite seeing its 14-point lead evaporate in the fourth quarter of last year’s District 1 Class 5A title game, Upper Dublin was able to put together a nine-play, 80-yard drive to take the lead before turning to its defense to seal the victory. With Rustin facing a fourth-and-goal from the Cardinals’ two, the Golden Knights reached deep into their bag of tricks to try and tie it, using the ever-familiar Philly Special to try and catch Upper Dublin’s defense off guard. The Cardinals were ready, however, swarming running back Michael Covert at the one-yard to keep him out of the end zone and give the Cardinals a district title victory.
