Mercury Girls Volleyball Roundup: OJR tops Oxford

Owen J. Roberts 3, Oxford 1 >> The Wildcats broke a 1-1 tie by winning two sets to handle Oxford in their non-league match Wednesday. Roberts’ set scores were 25-10, 25-18 and 25-16 around Oxford’s 25-17 victory in the second set.

Michelle Frank had one ace, 10 kills, one assist and two digs for OJR, which saw Mikayla Johnson add seven kills, one block and one dig. Jordyn Chambers chipped in with 30 assists, two aces and one kill.

Boyertown 3, Great Valley 1 >> The Bears rebounded from an opening-set loss to handle the Patriots in non-league action. Boyertown’s sets of 25-22, 27-25 and 28-26 came after Great Valley scored a 25-23 victory in the opener.

Emily Wolfe had 10 kills for Boyertown. Taylor Jones added eight kills and Emma Ludwig seven.
