Mercury Girls Tennis Roundup: OJR sweeps Upper Perkiomen

Owen J. Roberts 7, Upper Perkiomen 0 >> Clean sweeps by Elaina Lee and Jacey Caplan during their matches first and second singles set the tone in the Wildcats’ PAC win over the Tribe Wednesday.

Cara Semach rounded out singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 decision at third singles. The doubles pairing of Julia Brennan/Madelin Zarkoski posted a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 1 doubles while Maria Monteleone/Lien Nguyen won 6-1, 6-0.

Pope John Paul II 5, Pottsgrove 2 >> The Golden Panthers didn’t drop a set in singles in a PAC win over the Falcons.

Veronica Marinari, Jillian Boyle and Jordan Millers were straight-set winners at Nos. 1-3 singles, respectively.

Exeter 4, Daniel Boone 3 >> Winning three of five singles duels enabled the Eagles to edge the Blazers in their Berks Conference match.

Mallory Barndt and Rachael Haag were winners for Boone at second and third singles. Barndt and Haag also teamed up to win at second doubles.

Hill School 4, Westtown 1 >> The Blues were headed by Elena Zhang’s play at first singles of their non-league match with Westtown School.

Zhang handled Claire Burke 6-0, 6-1. Carla Canales added another Hill point at third singles.
