Reimers lead Chichester to shutout over Penn Wood
The Reimer brothers were at it again for Chichester in a 5-0 Del Val League triumph over Penn Wood.
Top singles player John Reimer earned a 6-2, 6-0 decision and No. 2 Adrian Reimer claimed a 6-0, 6-2 victory. John Coleman rounded out singles play with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3.
In the lone doubles match, Carl Paasewe and Joey Hagal went home with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Academy Park 5, Chester 0 >> The Knights rolled behind Duwaine Jenkins’ dominant 6-0, 6-0 performance at first singles. Rodney Gilliard and Evan Gadson won their singles matches in straight sets.
Jamal Sumpter and Dayquan Harrison were successful at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-1.
In nonleague action:
Cardinal O’Hara 3, Upper Darby 2 >> Martin Meenan’s performance at No. 3 singles keyed the win for O’Hara. The doubles pairings of Luke Savage and Patrick McCarry, and Jason Halley and Jake Gindhart were victorious in straight sets.
UD’s Brandon Caban and Matt Canavati triumphed in their singles matches.
In the Central League:
Garnet Valley 4, Harriton 3 >> Garnet’s Jared Varretti took care of business with a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles. It was the winning doubles play of Panjal Chandra and Anish Rana, Kevin Lu and Will DeMarco, and Nathan Kragradda and Will Nguyen that proved to be the difference for the Jaguars.
