Tienabeso puts it on the line to boost Garnet Valley

Carl Tienabeso didn’t have his usual shooting night, but when Garnet Valley needed him, he came through.

Tienabeso hit all five of his free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter en route to a 7-for-7 day at the stripe and 13 points to lead Garnet Valley to a 60-56 win over Lansdale Catholic in the Varsity Club Tournament championship game.

Andrew Louden scored 19 points to earn tournament MVP honors, and Brandon Starr’s 11 points landed him on the all-tournament team for the Jaguars (7-2).

Also at the Varsity Club Tournament:

Sun Valley 54, Archmere Academy 40 >> Kyle Ryan scored 17 points, and Ryan Hall added 15 as the Vanguards claimed the consolation game.

At the Great Valley Holiday Tournament:

Strath Haven 52, Harriton 37 >> John Harrrar was a dominant post force with 19 points, and Jahmeir Springfield’s seven points earned him tournament MVP honors as the Panthers rolled to the crown.

Alex Ischiropoulos added 12 points for the Panthers (9-2).

At the Walt Katuzny Tournament:

Radnor 76, Collegium Charter 62 >> Mason Ressler scored 11 of his 24 points as the Raiders pulled away in the third quarter, and Vinnie Kelly poured in all 16 of his points after halftime.

Michael Li added 13 points, and Vernon Harper scored 11 for the Raiders (7-3).

At the Penncrest Holiday Tournament:

Cheltenham 55, Penncrest 46 >> Tyler Norwood scored 17 points, and AJ Taylor added 13 as both were named to the all-tournament team, but the Lions (6-4) were outscored 38-14 in the second half as the Panthers roared back for the crown.

At the Pete/Jameer Nelson Classic:

Imhotep 67, Chester 57 >> Jamar Sudan scored 15 points, and Khaleeq Campbell supplied 13, but the Clippers (2-4) couldn’t recover from Imhotep’s second-quarter run.

Stanley Davis set a career-high with eight assists for Chester.

Downingtown West 47, Episcopal Academy 45 >> Nick Alikakos scored 19 points, and Conner Delaney added 12, but the Churchmen (9-2) fell at the buzzer. Matt Woods, who scored 10 points, had tied the game up with a 3-pointer with 19 ticks left.

At the Ridley Holiday Tournament:

Ridley 73, Interboro 39 >> Brett Foster went 13-for-14 from the line on the way to 24 points, and Julian Wing chipped in 12 as the Green Raiders (8-0) used a 32-point second quarter to book a spot in Wednesday’s final.

Albert Pewa came off the bench to pace Interboro with nine points.

Cardinal O’Hara 42, Southern 36 >> Jaye’Lyn Peebles scored a game-high 18 points, and Chris Johnson added 10, helping the Lions (4-4) go 9-for-12 from the line in the fourth quarter and earn a date with Ridley in the final at 7:30 p.m.

At the Steve Juenger Classic:

Academy Park 69, Haverford 62 >> Jawan Collins scored 16 points, Mike Satimehin chipped in 15 and Teddy Wright ruled the boards with 15 rebounds to complement eight points as the Knights (5-4) fought off the Fords.

Jack Donaghy scored a game-high 22 points for the Fords (1-8), and Connor Guilfoil wasn’t far behind with 21 points.

At the Unionville Shootout:

Chichester 80, Unionville 70 >> Eric Montanez scored 20 points to lead a quintet of double-figures scorers, and Jamai Womack tallied a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles (6-3).

Derick Welles scored 17 points, DaQuan Granberry paired 15 points with seven rebounds and four blocks, and James Hendricks added 12 points for Chi.

At the William Allen Holiday Tournament:

Springfield 59, GAR Memorial 56 >> Nick Fox posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Steve Randolph, who entered with two points all season, hit three 3-pointers to finish with 13 to help the Cougars (4-6) salvage the consolation game.

At the Dick Dougherty Memorial Tournament:

Delco Christian 43, Bristol 39 >> Grant Fischer scored 13 points to land on the all-tournament team, and Wyatt Harkins chipped in 10 as the Knights (5-3) held on from the line to win the consolation game.

At the Over the River Classic:

Pennsauken Tech 54, Christian Academy 53 >> Jalen Sherrill led all scorers with 17 points to go with six steals, and Brit Haseltine filled the stat sheet with 14 points, six assists and nine steals, but the Crusaders (2-7) fell in the consolation game.

At the State College Kiwanis:

Math, Civics and Science 48, Upper Darby 42 >> Troy Butler scored 10 points, and Khaleel Henry and Nazir Jordan scored eight apiece, but the Royals land in Wednesday’s consolation game.
