Eight is great for Riddle, Springfield against Radnor

Tyler Riddle just kept doing Tyler Riddle-type things Monday.

Riddle scored five goals and added three assists in leading Springfield to an 11-6 Central League win over Radnor at IceLine.

Jim Schickling fired home two goals to go with five assists, and Kevin Brown deposited a pair of pucks in the net as Andrew Astrino dished four helpers for Springfield.

Donald Sucher handed out four assists for the Raiders, who had six players score. Clayton Proctor paired his goal with two assists, while Brandon Curtis supplemented his marker with a helper.

In the PCL/Blue:

Archbishop Carroll 7, Father Judge 4 >> Brendan George’s second goal of the game at 14:02 of the third period gave the Patriots much needed cushion in what was then a one-goal game.

George, who dished three assists, was set up for the insurance goal by Nick Zambella (two assists) and Jason Zambella, whose goal 2:45 into the final frame proved to be the game-winner.

Matthew Strofe scored twice, including an empty-netter. Colby Yaller scored twice to go with an assist, and Jacob George made 24 saves for the win.

Cardinal O’Hara 11, Lansdale Catholic 1 >> Zac Deemer handed out three assists to go with his hat trick, and Nick Donato also pumped in three goals on a four-point night as the Lions made short work of the Crusaders.

Jon Melanchuk, Justin Boornazian, Corey Boornazian and Liam McCanney each collected a goal and an assist.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Episcopal Academy 7, Springside Chestnut Hill 3 >> Nick D’Alicandro tallied a hat trick to lead Episcopal Academy to a decisive win.

Ben Glidden made 20 saves in goal, and Bobby Gibson, Jack Brown, Tyler French and Adam Kovacs also lit the lamp for the Churchmen.

In the South Division:

Avon Grove 12, Interboro 1 >> Kevin Oreskovich scored off a feed from Mike Chamberlin late in the first period, but even 42 saves from Matt Whitham couldn’t spare the Bucs from a mercy-rule defeat after two periods.
