Balance paves the way for Haverford

Seven strokes separated Haverford’s top five finishers and that balance carried the Fords to a 217-239 nonleague victory over Cardinal O’Hara at Merion West Golf Club.

Matt Speers shot a 4-over par 39 to lead Haverford (10-6, 6-5 Central League). Junior Zach Miller chipped in with a 7-over 42.

O’Hara’s Alec Kerr started his day with an eagle to take overall medal honors with an evan-par round of 35. He holed out from the fairway for his eagle.
