Malvern Prep water polo squad downs Penn Charter in OT
The Malvern Prep water polo team defeated Penn Charter, 11-8, in overtime Tuesday. Malvern Prep fought back from a two-goal fourth quarter deficit to tie the game at 8-8 on Steven Salle’s goal (his third) to tie the game with 31 seconds left. With :08 left in the game Penn Charter earned a penalty shot which was denied by the Friars goalie Rory Allen (13 saves.) Aaron Salinas scored in overtime to break the tie and led to the win over Penn Charter at Malvern Prep’s O’Neill Center pool.
Aaron Salinas was also the defensive star of the game denying numerous Quaker shots and caused several turnovers. His brother Isaac contributed 3 goals, 2 assists while Tait McGlinn added a pair of goals and 2 assists. Zach Maher and Harrison Grant also contributed with big goals for the Friars.
