Locals named to USA Scholastic All-American list

The National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association published its list of the 2014-2015 All-Americans last week. The team is made up of the top 100 swimmers, divers, or relay swimmers in each event that submitted applications to NISCA and post impressive grades.
The list includes several locals including Hannah Schlegel and Emily Glinecke (Boyerytown YMCA), Maddie Cooke and Emma Seiberlich (Phoenixville YMCA) as well as Ethan D’Arcangelo (Upper Main Line YMCA).
Glinecke was named the Mercury’s All-Area Girls Swimmer of the Year this past season. As a junior at Pottsgrove High School, she earned two PIAA silver medals, two district golds and two area-best times.
After a phenomenal freshman season where she was named the 2014 Mercury-Area Girls Swimmer of the year, Cooke put together another strong performance during her sophomore year. Cooke capped off her sophomore campaign at Phoenixville High School with a tie for third place at PIAAs in the 50 free and also placed ninth in the 100 breast.
