Conestoga edges West Chester East

The Conestoga field hockey team edged West Chester East, 3-2, Saturday. The Pioneers had 31 shots on goal but could only muster three goals against the stingy Vikings goalie. Conestoga got on the board first off of a broken corner play when sophomore Kiley Allen picked up a loose ball and sent one toward the goal. Forward Natalie Hirst then redirected the ball into back of the net past the Viking goalie. Conestoga scored a second goal when Sophie Grove stole a Viking pass and fed it down the left side to Meredith Ross who took it all the way in for the score. Conestoga went up 3 -1 when Emma McGillis scored on a nice pass from Meredith Ross.
