Boys Basketball: McLoone helps Bonner-Prendie edge O’Hara

Tom McLoone sank a pair of free throws to put Bonner-Prendergast ahead to stay and Marques Jackson scored five of his game-high 19 points in overtime in a 43-40 victory over Cardinal O’Hara.

McLoone finished with 10 points and four rebounds, and Tyler Higgins added nine points and six rebounds for B-P. Jackson hit a trio of 3-pointers.

Ahmad Williams paced O’Hara with 10 points and Zakee Griffin chipped in with nine.

In the Tri-State Christian Conference:

Christian Academy 54, Cumberland Christian 28: Jeremiah Williams had 12 points and six assists as the Crusaders (5-10) came out firing in the first quarter and never let up. Williams, Eithan Dutton and Brady Waller all hit 3-pointers in the opening stanza to help TCA to a 35-12 halftime advantage.

Dutton had a strong game, pacing all scorers with 17 points, while Waller supplied nine points for TCA.

In a Del Val League game Thursday:

Chester 68, Interboro 56: The Clippers turned on the pressure during a 25-10 spurt in the fourth quarter. The host Bucs entered the final period with a 46-43 lead.

Keyonte Watkins led all player with 17 points and Marquis Collins pumped in 15 for the Clippers (10-3, 4-0).

In the Inter-Ac League:

Germantown Academy 65, Haverford School 58: A wild fourth quarter, in which GA outscored the Fords, 25-21, proved to be the difference. With the victory, the Patriots forced a three-way tie for first place in the Inter-Ac League. Sam Lindgren led three players in double figures with 19, Devon Goodman netted 17 and Tim Guers added 15 for GA (15-4, 4-1).

Shawn Alston dumped in a game-best 21 points and Lamar Stevens poured in 20 for the Fords, who also relied upon the hot shooting of Derek Mountain (14 points).

Episcopal Academy 51, Penn Charter 27: Nick Alikakos had a big night for the Churchmen (13-5, 4-1), who stayed tied atop the Inter-Ac standings. Alikakos poured in 20 points and snared eight boards, Mike Hinckley had eight points, and Conner Delaney contributed six points and five assists.
