West’s hat trick is all O’Hara needs in playoff victory

Jenn West brought her “A’ game to kick off Cardinal O’Hara’s run in the Catholic League girls soccer playoffs, netting a hat trick on a wet and windy Wednesday evening as the Lions advanced with a 3-0 win at Conwell-Egan.

West opened the scoring 5 minutes into the second half off a pass from Jess Digiacomo. The pair hooked up again for the same result 10 minutes later, and West capped her hat trick late in the second half to seal the victory.

Carrie Zamonski made eight saves to earn the shutout, with defensive help provided by Alex Patrick.

In a Bicentennial League game:

Delco Christian 4, Phil-Mont Christian 1: Julia Kyne made quick work of the hosts, producing a hat trick in a match shortened by 20 minutes due to inclement weather.

Kailey Neef added a goal and two assists and Alex Thompson also chipped in a pair of helpers for the Knights (11-4-2, 7-2-1), who closed out their league campaign as Constitution Division champions.
