Lattana Sithara and Breanna Reid put the finishing touches on a perfect season for the Academy Park tennis team.
Sithara and Reid defeated Vanessa Kobchenko and Ella Bucalova of Chichester, 6-4, 6-2, to win the Del Val League doubles title Wednesday at Chester Park.
It was the third win of the day for Sithara and Reid. They defeated Sedia Massaquoi and Brianna Cronin of Chichester in the quarterfnals, 6-4, 6-0, and then topped Oumou Diarra and Ely Perez of Penn Wood in the semis, 6-1, 6-0.
Sithara won the Del Val singles crown and teamed with Reid to lead the Knights to their second straight league team title. Sithara and Reid and Kobchenko and Bucalova qualified for the District One doubles tournament. Kobchenko and Bucalova had to win two three-set matches to get to the final.
Lataezya Watson and Aya Salim of Chester topped Diarra and Perez, 6-4, 6-4, for third place.
In nonleague action:
Notre Dame 6, Marple Newtown 1: Natalie Hughes and Adriana Bull were perfect at second doubles as the Irish lost a total of four games in a straight set sweeps of the doubles. Rylee Power was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at first singles for the Tigers.
