Sorrentino helps Carroll respond in win over Bonner-Prendie
In a scoreless game at halftime, the Archbishop Carroll coaching staff challenged its offense to emerge.
The Patriots quickly answered the call.
The Patriots scored four times in 14 minutes, Bella Sorrentino playing a role in all four tallies, to run away with a 4-0 win over Bonner-Prendergast.
Sorrentino scored twice and set up teammates for two goals in that rapid-fire sequence. Rachel Matey and Meghan Matey each accounted for a goal and an assist for Carroll (6-6-1, 5-3-1 Catholic League).
Despite the rough patch, Bonner-Prendie’s Miranda Corrigan was stellar in net, stopping 19 shots, many of them difficult looks.
In nonleague action:
Chichester 4, Upper Merion 2: Megan Carroll, Monigo Karnley and Tara Klepacki scored for the Eagles (7-7-1), who also benefited from an own goal.
Theresa Mignogna made four saves for the Eagles.
In the Ches-Mont:
West Chester Henderson 8, Sun Valley 1: Maddie Skwirut scored before halftime, and Amy Parker made 18 saves, but the visiting Vanguards were no match for Henderson.
