Glenn’s late goal is all Garnet Valley needs to tie

Rachel Glenn had picture-perfect placement on her direct free kick from 30 yards out, with the shot glancing in off the underside of the crossbar in the 74th minute to pull Garnet Valley even en route to Friday’s 1-1 draw with West Chester East in a nonleague match.

Ashley Bufano preserved the tie for the Jaguars (10-3-2) by stopping seven shots, including a pair of spectacular saves in the 93rd minute.

In other nonleague action:

Chichester 3, Ridley 1: Megan Carroll notched her 16th goal of the season and Desiree Pannah scored a pair after halftime to snap a tie and send the Eagles (6-7-1) and goalie Theresa Mignogna (five saves) to the victory.

Penncrest 3, Kennett 0: Sisters Nicole and Olivia Mancarella each had a goal, Cassidy Moretti also scored and teamed with Gia Martyn to control the midfield for the Lions (11-3), and Merry Samuel and Mariah Kozub played solid defense in front of Kayla Allen, who stopped two shots in recording her seventh shutout.

Unionville 2, Strath Haven 1: Lizzie King pulled the Panthers (9-2-2) even midway through the second half, only to see Quinn Benintende deliver the visitors’ game winner with her second goal of the match in the 80th minute. Strath Haven keeper Katie Fisher was solid with 10 saves.
