Zamonski’s stops give O’Hara a draw
Goalie Carrie Zamonski came up huge to help Cardinal O’Hara battle St. Hubert to a 0-0, double-overtime draw in Catholic League girls soccer action Thursday.
Zamonski stopped 12 shots including several difficult saves to keep the game scoreless.
Bonner-Prendergast 7, Neumann-Goretti 0: Miranda Corrigan made two saves in the first half and scored a goal in the second half for the Pandas (3-8, 3-5). Kayla McLaughlin took over in goal in the second half and made two saves to complete the shutout.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Episcopal Academy 4, Springside Chestnut Hill 0: Jessica Shanahan struck for two goals for the second time this week. Tara Boyle and Molly O’Brien also scored for the Churchwomen.
In the Del Val League:
Chichester 9, Penn Wood 2: Mackenzie Fredricks and Megan Carroll led a balanced attack with two goals each. Monigo Karnley, Tara Klepacki, Zaria Ford and Tiffane Campble also scored for the Eagles (5-7-1). One goal was an own goal. Theresa Mignogna made three save in goal for Chi.
Fredrika Weah tallied twice and goalie Tachee Umah made nine saves for the Patriots.
In the Bicentennial League:
Christopher Dock 3, Delco Christian 2: Dock scored all three of its goals in the second half to erase a 2-0 deficit.
The Knights (6-5-2, 4-2-1) had a chance to tie the game in the waning moments but a shot went off the crossbar. Julia Kyne and Kailey Neef needed one goal each for the Knights. Neef fed Kyne for a 1-0 lead nine minutes into the game and then scored off a direct free kick in the 33rd minute to make it 2-0 DC.
In nonleague action:
Interboro 1, Ridley 1: Haley Fisher put home a pass from Deanna Rivelo to give the Bucs a 1-0 halftime lead. Jenna Catania tallied the equalizer in the second half to help the Green Raiders settle for a double-overtime draw.
Garnet Valley 2, Owen J. Roberts 2: Goalie Ashley Bufano made several key stops to help the Jaguars (10-3-1, 7-1-0 Central League) come away with a double overtime tie.
Jackie Sever gave GV a 2-1 lead in the 60th minute, but Mia Bertolami tied it 10 minutes later. Britny Dragoni had the first goal for the Jaguars, while Bufano finished with five saves.
Sun Valley 5, Pottstown 0: Emily Skwirut, Ashley Gindle, Sam Bowen, Jordan Johnson and Emily Simpson tallied one goal each for the Vanguards (4-9). Gindle’s score came on a PK. Amy parker stopped two shots for the shutout.
