Kilker’s goal wins it for Springfield

It was the kind of goal that usually winds up on a highlight reel and probably will. It also helped Springfield to a 3-2 Central League boys soccer victory over Marple Newtown in double overtime Tuesday.

Nick Jannelli took a long throw-in and headed a perfect pass to Josh Kilker, who ripped a bullet from roughly 15 yards out for the winner in the 96th minute.

Marple Newtown’s Dominic Pezotti scored late in the second half to send the game into overtime.

In other Central League games:

Haverford High 1, Upper Darby 0: Willie Fineberg’s goal two minutes into the second overtime won it for the Fords. Will Bistline made four saves in goal for Haverford.

Penncrest 1, Ridley 0: Goalie Liam Thomas made Sam Brown’s goal in the first half stand up as the winner. Brown converted a pass from Christian Evans 20 minutes into the game. John Kopko made seven saves for Ridley.

Radnor 3, Conestoga 2: Center-back Drew Ryan’s all-around play and first goal for Radnor powered the Raiders. Ryan and Max Barish (two goals) scored in first 10 minutes of the second half to erase a 1-0 deficit.

In the Bicentennial League:

Delco Christian 5, Church Farm School 1: Ryan Norton had three assists, all in the second half, as Delco Christian scored four unanswered goals to beat Church Farm. Daniel Deger chipped in with two goals for the Knights (3-4).

In the Del Val League:

Chichester 1, Academy Park 0: Matt Dwyer pounced on a loose ball in the box in the 37th minute to put home the goal that gave Chichester a victory over Academy Park. Goalie Jeff Reed stopped two shots to record the shutout for the Eagles (2-4, 2-0).

In the Tri-State Christian Conference:

TCA 7, Calvary Academy 0:Evan Needs pumped home three more goals as The Christian Academy (4-0-1) rolled over Calvary Academy. Joseph Opdenaker split time between the net and the field and had one goal and one save.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Unionville 7, Sun Valley 2: Brayden Myers and Josh Lehrberger scored as Sun Valley dropped a  ecision to Unionville.

In a nonleague game:

Episcopal Academy 1, Germantown Friends 0: Matt DePillis was in the right place to put home a rebound 20 minutes into the second half to give Episcopal Academy a win over Germantown Friends. Matt Freese stopped three shots to record the clean sheet for the Churchmen (6-2-1).
