Spring-Ford, Perkiomen Valley, Phoenixville cruise; OJR and Boyertown pull out close victories

Spring-Ford 11, Pope John Paul II 1, 6 innings >> The Rams’ 12-hit offense closed out a win over neighbor PJP in 6 innings with a five-run sixth.

Spring-Ford had two-hit days from Megan Kern (double), Maggie McConney (double), Sophia Cinti (two RBI), Julia Heine and winning pitcher Sam Lindsay (two RBI), who limited the Golden Panthers to one unearned run on five hits with four strikeouts.

PJP got multi-hit games from Amanda Butera and Alexandria Szpindor.

Boyertown 4, Upper Perkiomen 3 >> The Bears got back-to-back home runs from Kody Streeter and Kylie Hertzler in a three-run fourth inning before scoring the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Allison Melahn got the win after 2-1/3 innings scoreless relief. Hertzler was 2-for-3 and Streeter drove in two runs. Upper Perk got two-hit games from Emily Moll and Karlee Fretz.

Perkiomen Valley 10, Upper Merion 0 >> Abby Wild threw another five-inning no-hitter to lead the Vikings to a victory over Upper Merion.

Wild finished with 10 strikeouts and two walks in the win for PV, which received a three-hit performance from Ashley Bangert (3-3 one run, RBI). Gillian Barrie went 2-for-4 with two RBI while Jess Ott had an inside-the-park home run. Sela Fusco tripled with Fiona Warren and Wild finishing with a double apiece.

Phoenixville 13, Methacton 0 >> The Phantoms exploded for 11 runs in the first inning en route to a victory over the Warriors via mercy rule.

Jess Anthony had two hits and a double for the Phantoms with Melissa Cappelli and Katie Rutledge adding two hits and a triple a piece.

Jess Eldridge pitched five shutout innings, allowing three hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Owen J. Roberts 3, Pottsgrove 0 >> Brittney Dellaquila threw a complete-game shutout while the Wildcats pounded out 10 hits en route to the win over the Falcons.

Casey Walker, Madison Twaddell and Emily Shaheen each finished with two hits in the win. Walker, Darby Stuart and Bridget Guinan each had an RBI.

Five different Falcons registered a hit in the loss. Rayna Markle took the loss in the circle. She struck out two.
