Radnor crew kicks off its season at 2nd Manny Flick
The Radnor Boys and Girls Crew Clubs kicked off their spring racing season Sunday at the 2nd Manny Flick in Philadelphia.
The Boys entered four boats in the 1,500-meter race. The Freshman 8+, comprised of John Janson, Jacob Frishman, Jack Ressler, Garrett Stearns, Alfred Harris, Daniel Holtz, Michael Ching, Andrew Dunkel and coxswain Kendall Beverly finished with a time of 5:34.
The Lightweight 4+ with Braedon Meandro, Willem McGee, Tommy Ciatto, Ryan Conklyn and coxswain Zahi Shalev were fourth in their heat with a time of 5:17.
RBCC entered two boats in the Varsity 8+ category. The first boat, comprised of Bob Subak, Milo Wilton, Noah Morris, Matt Palmer, Zach Taylor, Mike Fitzpatrick, Chetin Atillasoy, Pranav Gaddameedi and coxswain Noah Pepper finished third in their heat with a time of 4:31. The second boat, with Ben Webster, Patrick Kaper, Greg McNicholas, Brett Lyons, Ben Palmer, Stuart O’Riordan, Sam Bupp, Alistar Douglas and coxswain John Talucci were fifth with a time of 4:54.
The Radnor Girls entered five boats, beginning with the Novice 4+, who won their event, taking first place with a time of 6:09.92. Coxed by Elena Owens, the rowers were Kylie Slupe, Megan Frei, Lindsay Eggert and Mila Glassman.
The Freshman 8+ finished third in their heat and fifth overall (6:12.66), and included: Claudia Bay, Jill Getty, Desyne Clarke, Abby Chapin, Erica MacCormick, Taylor Stearns, Luna Macias and coxswain Courtney Gallagher.
The JV8+ came in second in their heat and third overall at 5:14.90, and was comprised of coxswain Courtney Zajac, Katherine Bragdon, Liz Dustin, Ellisen Ching, Abby Frishman, Sammy Cohen, Mackenzie Jones, Camille Mulder and Sally Dolan.
In the Lightweight 8+ category, Radnor finished second with a time of 5:12.14, with coxswain Melissa Hunn, Lexi Fogel, Julia Wi, Elly Conklyn, Amanda Vitt, Jenna Spray, Jaimee Getty, Joanna Vines and Tessa Kilby.
And in the Varsity 8+ event, the girls rowed to a 5:02.17 third in heat, fourth overall finish. In this boat were: Olivia Robinson, Katie Dolan, Anna Duffy, Liz Dustin, Katie Gerber, Kate McCulloch, Rebecca Modell, Gillian Sullivan, and coxswain Julia Lunger.
