Weir sets pace as Marple Newtown and Springfield battle to draw

Tom Weir set the pace for Marple Newtown with a 38 at Springfield Country Club, but Weir and the Tigers were forced to settle for a 214-214 tie with Ridley.
Weir was backed by a 40 by Joe DelFranco, while Matt Deacon shot 44, Kyle Turner had a 45 and Mike Shevlin posted a 47 for the Tigers. For the Green Raiders, Greg Myers and Rick VanVLadricken both shot 40, Chris Durning had a 44 and Eric Magro and Mark Pecko posted a pair of 45s.

For Penncrest, TJ May had a 45 and Alex Tumolo posted a 46.

Frank McVeigh of Haverford had the best overall round with a 4-over par 35 at The Springhaven Club.

Teammate Greg Manning recorded four pars to turn in his best score of the season (6-over 41).
