Erie Cathedral Prep 44, Exeter 24 >> The Eagles went two-and-out in the PIAA Team Championships’ Class AAA bracket, handled by the Ramblers in Friday’s first round of consolations.

Exeter, the third-place team out of District 3, got the bulk of its points off pins by Brett Kulp, Tyler Bagoly and Scott Schaeffer, with Austin DeSanto receiving a forfeit at 120. But District 10 champ Cathedral Prep was powered by four falls and two major decisions as it scored 26 unanswered points between 182 and 113 to break up an 18-18 tie between the teams.

Kulp got his pin at the 2:11 mark of his 132-pound duel with Spencer Staab. Bagoly posted the fastest pin for Exeter at 152, needing just 28 seconds to deck Albert Taylor, and Schaeffer followed a 170 with a 3:19 drop of Kyle Carter.
