Pottsgrove’s Chris Defrancesco took home Outstanding Wrestler honors and Ryan Finn also won his weight class as the Falcons brought home two gold medals Wednesday at the Ralph Wetzel Classic at Hatboro Horsham High School.
Defrancesco’s dynamite run through the 220 lb. field was capped by a 6-4 decision of Delaware top-ranked Nazr Roberson of Newark in the final. Defrancesco pinned his way to the final, planting Michael Leyland of Roman Catholic in 3:24 in the semifinals.
Finn took the championship at 160 by besting Appoquinimink’s Danny Blaasch 4-2 in the final. In the semis, Finn blanked Wethersfield’s Chris Shimwell, 5-0.
Rounding out Pottsgrove’s medalists was Chris Quintrell, who took fifth at 182.
