Delco PIAA Swimming Champions

The first PIAA swimming and diving meet was hosted in 1940, before the sport had even finalized the four strokes we see in competition today. Delaware County was represented among the champions at that inaugural meet, with Bill Wilkinson of Eddystone High winning the first 100 backstroke title.
The PIAA added girls competition in 1973, then split into two classifications in the 1990s, a system that holds through today. More than 100 swimmers from Delco have claimed individual and relay crowns at the state championships.
