All-Delco Banquet Athletes of the Year
There was a time when the early summer would include one more date on the Delco sports calendar: The All-Delco banquet.
Each June from the 1980s through 2012, players selected as All-Delcos and their families would convene at the end of the academic year for a banquet to celebrate their achievements. With special guest speakers and giveaways, the banquet was a way to connect across sports and across the county, uniting the best of the best.
One of the cornerstones of each banquet was voting for Male and Female Athletes of the Year. The Daily Times staff, in consultation with local coaches, assembled all-star teams for each sport and sponsored the banquet. But the athletes themselves would vote for the best among them, elite athletes recognizing each other.
Below is the list of annual winners voted by their peers as the best of the best.
