The senior attack scored four goals in the Owls’ 11-10 triple overtime win April 18 against Episcopal Academy, who was previously unbeaten and ranked No. 2 in the nation. Brady also plays field hockey for Agnes Irwin, and belongs to a number of organizations at the school, including the Center of the Advancement of Girls, Team Joy, FOCUS, Tour Guides, One Love Club and Produce Project. Next spring, Brady will play lacrosse for Villanova University. Agnes Irwin lacrosse head coach Lauren Wray said, “Elle has been a consistent force in the offensive end this season, and is always a team-first positive teammate. She demonstrates a tireless work ethic and is always doing the ‘extra’ – wall ball, running, shooting – to make herself the best attacker she can possibly be. We have watched her grow into a dynamic and elusive attacker who has the ability to feed and catch and finish inside with ease. She is a selfless teammate who always prioritizes the team’s success.”

Q: What is your favorite memory of the big triple-overtime win against EA?

A: My favorite memory of that game would be the energy that we brought after every single goal. We went into this game with the mindset that we had to win, we played together as one team with a bunch of energy. This win was something we needed to get us back on track for the rest of this season.

Q: What aspects of your game did you work on the most during the past off-season?

A: I focused on my quickness, stick work, shooting accuracy and fitness/weight training.

Q: What advantages do you think being a multi-sport athlete in high school offers, as compared to an athlete who only focuses on one sport in high school?

A: One advantage is how I am able to focus on one sport at a time and enjoy it. Field hockey isn’t my primary sport, but I think that being a part of another sports team other than lacrosse really expands my love for sports and team cultures.

Q: What has been your favorite experience with the Agnes Irwin lacrosse team to date?

A: My favorite experience with Agnes Irwin lacrosse would be our most recent trip to Italy. During our time together, I got close with all of my teammates from every grade. We got to meet and play the Italian National Team. This moment in this trip made me feel fortunate to be able to play this sport every day with the people I love and I learned to never take the opportunities that I am given for granted.

Q: Tell us a little about your start in competitive lacrosse – have you always played attack?

A: I started playing lacrosse in lower school and throughout each summer. I have always played attack on my club teams and for school. I think this position is just so fun to be a part of because it’s a balance of skill and knowing when to take the shot or to pass to your teammate.

Q: Who have been your top lacrosse mentors, and what was the most important thing you learned from each of them?

A: My biggest mentors, aside from the coaching staff at Agnes Irwin, have been my Ultimate Lacrosse Club coach Devin Schmidt and of course my teammates. Every person that I have been with throughout my lacrosse journey gave me the confidence to succeed and helped me attain my goal of having the opportunity to play lacrosse at Villanova.

Q: You wear uniform jersey No. 11 for Agnes Irwin lacrosse – is there a reason you chose that number?

A: Yes, my two older brothers both wore No. 11 for Haverford School when they played lacrosse there and ever since then I have worn No. 11.

Q: What is your favorite academic course at Agnes Irwin? What do you plan to major in at Villanova? Is there a career path that particularly appeals to you at the present time?

A: I am currently taking Economics and Entrepreneurship at Agnes Irwin and love it. I find this class very engaging and interesting. At Villanova, I plan to major in Economics/Business where I hope to pursue a career in business management.
