Coach of The Year
Hal Ziegler – Coatesville
A successful coach is not only one who leads and teaches the game, but one who also can motivate their squad to heights they previously thought they could not attain.

Coming into the 2023 season not many observers picked Coatesville to be one of the top teams in the Ches-Mont League.

Those people would be proved wrong. Coatesville won 16 games and captured the crown in the very tough National Division and advanced to the third round of the District 1 6A playoffs.

It is for getting his team to play at a very big level that Coatesville’s Hal Ziegler is The Daily Local News All-Area Baseball Coach of the Year.

“The kids really worked and worked to get better,” Ziegler said.

“They were your typical tough Coatesville team. They never got down and they battled the whole seven innings of every game. When you played us, you’re in for a dogfight.

The Red Raiders boss just completed his 29th season at the helm. His 2023 team will be remembered as a team that banded together and accomplished a division championship against a lot of obstacles.

It took a steady hand a the top of the team to get the Red Raiders to the top of the Ches-Mont. Hal Ziegler was that man.
