DLN Roundup: Williston’s three hits helps Oxford knock off Great Valley

Asher Williston went 3-for-3 with three runs scored as Oxford waltzed past Great Valley, 7-3 in a Ches-Mont League American Division baseball contest Monday.
Ben Palita doubled in a pair of runs and Danny Wyatt tripled and drove in a run.
Braeden Melia and Alex Bartlett drove in single runs for the Patriots.

Softball
Oxford 13, Great Valley 1, 4 1/3 innings >> The Hornets scored all their run in the first three innings to cruise to the Ches-Mont American victory. Ashley Flynn led the way offensively with four hits, including a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored. Angela Beadle and CeCe Figueroa drove in two runs each. Figueroa allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts to earn the win.

Downingtown West 4, Avon Grove 0 >> Addison Carter toosed a four-hit shutout as the Whippets collected the the Ches-Mont National victory. Emma Ahlborn, Mavica Mendez and Olivia Gardner recorded two hits each. Gardner and Jordan Toth had single RBIs.

Downingtown East 13, Coatesville 2, 5 innings >> The Cougars belted four homers en route to the Ches-Mont National romp. Steph Alessandro had a grand slam along with deep flys from Jade Jenkins, Lilly Waterer, Sam Wendig. Sophia Kucera tripled and Rachel Schumann doubled twice and tossed a four hitter.

Girls Lacrosse
Oxford 19, Merion Mercy 6 >> Alexis Reinard tallied five goals and three assists to lead the Hornets to the nonleague victory. Ava Soucek recorded four goals, while Olivia Voss added two goals and three assists, Emma Coates added two goals and an assist. Kylie Quinn, Natalie Fetterolf, Amanda Peterson, Mackenzie Clark, Ava McGlothlin and Devon Stackhouse registered a goal each. Paige Boone made eight saves in the win.

Boys Lacrosse
Lancaster Wilson 12, Downingtown West 7 >> Bram Monroe had three goals and an assists for the Whippets in the nonleague defeat. Single markers came from Carter Grear, Eddie Moore, Bret Bergey and Brady Cetera.
Bishop Shanahan 9, Devon Prep 3 >> Devon Mullen collected four goals, an assist and four ground balls to pace the Eagles in the nonleague triumph. Colin Gaffney added two goals and two assists. Ronan Miller, Nate Bracken and Anthony Boffa had a goal each. Joe Pezone recorded 11 saves.

Boys Tennis
Oxford 6, Ridley 1 >> Liam Hale won a tree-set match at second singles to spur the Hornets to the nonleague victory. Jacon Horton and Luke Schoessler won the other two singles matches in straight sets.
