Girls lacrosse
Wissahickon 17, Quakertown 3: Alexa McCabe scored six goals, including her 100th, as the Trojans rolled to the SOL American win on Monday. Emma Greenberg added four goals and five assists, while Nora Ryan scored three goals. Maddie Radell and Sophia Stehlik each added two goals for Wiss, while Ava Fell made 13 saves in net.
Methacton 14, Upper Merion 13: The Warriors rallied for the PAC win behind five goals from Megan Sanelli and four more from Michelle Zhai. Methacton trailed 9-6 at the half. Giada Catoia added a hat trick, while Bella Catania scored two goals. Ashley Evitts led Upper Merion with six goals, while Julianna Callison had a hat trick. Scoring two goals for the Vikings were Sam Walmsley, Olivia Smith and Brooke Olsen.
Council Rock South 14, Souderton 4: The Indians fell behind 7-1 at the half and dropped the contest on Monday. Avery Farina, Ang Borisow, Rachel Schewe and Ava Jones scored for Souderton.
Baseball
Methacton 7, Perk Valley 2: Evan Jones earned the victory on the mound, giving up one earned run and striking out 8 in 4.2 innings of work for the Warriors on Monday in PAC action. Matthew Christian came in to record the final seven outs of the game for Methacton (11-1, 8-1). Jake Chapman continued his hot hitting with two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Kross Howarth added a home run, two runs scored and two walks.
Pope John Paul II 19, Pottsgrove 4: The Golden Panthers broke the game open with a nine-run second inning and coasted to the win on Monday. Luke Terlesky paced the offense with a triple, home run and three RBIs. Brendan Kenning added two singles, two doubles and two RBI’s for PJP, which finished with 14 hits in all.
Upper Perk 16, Upper Merion 0: The Vikings were no-hit in four innings of work on Monday. Upper Perk added 14 hits and 16 runs in rolling to the PAC win.
Boys lacrosse
Pope John Paul II 19, Upper Darby 1: Sophomores Ian Young (5 goals and 3 assists) and Ryan Lamson (4 goals) led PJP to the non-league win on Monday. Ian Young also recorded his 100th career point.
Upper Merion 13, Methacton 6: Casey Lamey and Kevin Roseland each scored four goals as the Vikings coasted to the win on Monday. Justin Besz added two goals and two assists for Upper Merion, while Andrew Haney and Qwynne Jones each scored a goal. Ryan Becker won 16 of 22 faceoffs, while Nathan Uhl made eight saves in net.
Boys tennis
CR South 5, North Penn 2: NP ran into a buzzsaw that is CR South led by District 1-3A finalists Mikkel Zinder and Alex Sterin, who lost just two games, However, the Knights responded with wins at No. 3 singles from Alexander Brown (6-4, 6-3) and the No. 3 doubles team of Wyatt Beidelman/Charles Skinner (6-4, 6-2). CR South also pulled out a couple of three-setters as Remy Zinder/Ryan Kraychik won 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 over Nathan Yan/Aslan Yu 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles and the No. 4 duo of Joseph Schiochetti/Krish Patel survived 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 three-setter over Advaith Kollipara/Kenneth Lam.
Pennsbury 5, Abington 2: The Falcons swept the singles matches and picked up the SOL crosover win on Monday. Abington was strong at the bottom of the lineup with No. 3 and 4 doubles both winning. Cristian Hinkel/Max Farma won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 doubles, while the No. 4 duo of Josh Malka/Erik Ginzburg were 6-2, 7-5 victors. The match of the day came down at No. 1 doubles where Pennsbury’s Ryan Fox/Lucca Fredericko picked up a 6-7 (5), 6-2, 10-5 marathon of a victory over Jonah Greeley/Joseph Chacko.
Upper Merion 5, Boyertown 2: The Vikings won a trio of three-setters and recorded the PAC win on Monday. Josiah Kotright set the tone at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 0-6, 6-1 topsy-turvy victory over Boyertown’s Brayden Burkhardt. Upper Merion also won at No. 2 doubles where Somil Tare/Christopher Smith won 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 over Addison Lilly/Joseph Romano 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. The Vikings also were victorious at No. 4 doubles with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 win from Antony Li/Anthony Frederick.
Lower Moreland 5, Jenkintown 0: The Lions did not need District 1-2A champ Aaron Sandler in the nonconference win on Monday. Jacob Heller stepped in at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win as the Lions did not drop a set on the day.
Quakertown 5, Upper Perk 2: The Panthers swept the singles matches and coasted to the win on Monday. Max Arkans, Tyler Osika and Ben Arkans combined to lose just six games.
