Hahn notches 100th career goal as Central Bucks West topples Plymouth Whitemarsh
DOYLESTOWN — The game belonged to Central Bucks West and the day belonged to Austin Hahn, who scored his 100th career goal in an impressive victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh.
When the final horn sounded, Hahn was mobbed by his teammates.
“It’s been so much fun. I honestly wouldn’t pick anyone other than these guys to play lacrosse with. These are my best friends and my family,” the Buck senior said. “I have no brothers at home, but I have a thousand brothers on this team.”
Hahn’s five-goal effort helped lead the way to a 19-6 win over the Colonials at War Memorial Field, as West raised its record to 8-2. The Colonials, who got a pair of goals from Jared Kolsun, are now 2-7 on the season.
Hahn received hugs, handshakes and was doused by more than a few water bottles after reaching the century mark for West.
“It’s crazy. It’s a huge milestone. I’ve only played three seasons (because of the pandemic in 2020) so it’s a huge milestone for me,” he said. “It means a lot. I gotta thank my teammates. They’re the ones who made the assists, fed me the ball, so I honestly couldn’t do it without them.”
The Bucks jumped out to a 4-0 lead and were ahead 6-1 after one quarter. The 13-1 advantage at the break ensured a running clock for the second half.
West’s offense put forth a dominant performance.
The seven-11 connection clicked early and often, as Alex Greenspan and Matt Jacobsen worked their magic. Greenspan had five goals and Jacobsen added four.
Hahn scored twice in the second quarter for the surging Bucks.
“Ecstatic,” he said of the team afterwards. “You look around and everyone has a smile on their face. Everyone’s ready. We have two big league matchups coming up so we’re excited. We’re getting the momentum swinging.”
Joe Perry added a goal and four assists for the Bucks, who travel to Neshaminy Tuesday.
The Colonials will host New Hope Solebury on Tuesday.
