DLN Roundup: Coatesville holds on to edge C.R. North
The Coatesville boys’ lacrosse squad held on for a 10-9 non-league victory over Council Rock North on Monday. The Raiders – who led 9-7 heading into the final period – got six goals from Owen Ellis and four assists from Derek Cooper. Magnus Clousser added three goals and Josh Van Orden chipped in three assists for Coatesville.
West Chester Henderson 9, Phoenixville 1 >> The Warriors broke open a battle by outscoring the Phantoms 4-0 in a pivotal third quarter. Seamus Murphy paced all scorers with four goals, while teammates Carmen Cortese, Ryan Prete and Harry McIntyre each added a goal and an assist for Henderson.

West Chester Henderson 11, Coatesville 1 (5 innings) >> The Warriors took an early 6-0 lead and went on to beat the Raiders in Ches-Mont action. Conor McCartney led the way with four hits and three RBI. Teammates Marcus Gustafson and Ethan Giangiullo each added two hits for Henderson.
Boys Tennis
Unionville 7, Oxford 0 >> The Longhorns collectively won 42 of 46 games in a straight set sweep of the Hornets. Matt Miller, Andrew Ou and Matt Farrell won singles matches 6-0, 6-0. The most competitive doubles match was at No. 1, where Ryan Megill and Jack Barrickman topped Connor Michael and Benjamin Fields 6-0 6-2

Immaculata 6, Kean (N.J.) 0 (6 innings) >> Immaculata got on the board early in the bottom of the first inning when Josh Crowding hit a double off the wall in right field to score Joey Wright. Jay Lawrence later singled to center to score Crowding and Joey Sacco to put the Mighty Macs up 3-0.
Immaculata would extend its lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Crowding homered to left field. Justin Klemick then drove in Sacco and Ryan Struble with a two-run single to extend Immaculata’s lead to 6-0. The Macs improve to 9-6 overall.
Softball
Cabrini 1, Immaculata 0 >> The Mighty Macs dropped their home opener in Atlantic East Conference action. Sophomore pitcher Emma Mercandante went the distance, surrendering just four hits, striking out six and zero earned runs. At the plate, the Macs were led by Kristin Carter, who went 2-3 at the plate.
Men’s Volleyball
Immaculata 3, Bryn Athyn 0 >> The Macs prevailed 21-6, 25-15, 25-13 to conclude the 2023 season with a program best 10-10 record. Immaculata was led offensively by John Bohrer (eight kills), Steven Dao (seven kills) and Jack Dedes (six kills). Garrett Pepper contributed 14 assists and Joe Martell added 13 assists.
