DLN local roundup: Great Valley girls basketball team tops Sun Valley
The Great Valley High School girls basketball team defeated Sun Valley, 47-31, Thursday. Gia Sioutis was the high scorer for the Patriots, with 16 points, and teammate Lauren Fredrick had a double-double, contributing 11 points and 10 rebounds. Laura Lum scored nine points and Taia DiPrinzio had eight points for Great Valley.
Downingtown East 67, Penn Wood 32 >> The Cougars got scoring from 11 players, led by Charlotte Aldridge (18 points) and Ari Smuda (13 points). Jazlyn Boyd and Ellie Marrotta scored their first varsity points.
West Chester East 42, West Chester Henderson 27 >> The Vikings got balanced scoring from eight different players, led by Kayla Miller (eight points) and Lauren Horan (seven points). Jackie Shea led the Henderson attack with 11 points.
Bishop Shanahan 66, Avon Grove 41 >> The Eagles got 21 points from Alyssa Brown and 14 points from Alexa Bojko. The Red Devils’ scoring was paced by Naiya Murphy (13 points) and Leila Rubin (10 points).

West Chester East 56, West Chester Henderson 42 >> KJ Cochran tallied 25 points for the victorious Vikings, while teammate Ryan Price chipped in with 10 (including three treys) and Jack Kushner and Jose Ramos tallied nine each. Henderson scoring was led by Connor Fleet (21 points) and Nyle Ralph-Beyer (seven points).
Malvern Prep 74, Central Bucks South 46 >> The Friars were led by Andrew Phillips (21 points), Ryan Williams (18 points) and Hayden Pegg (13 points).
