The Reporter/Times Herald/Montgomery Media Local Roundup (Dec. 13): Pennridge coasts past Souderton

BOYS BASKETBALL
Pennridge 60, Souderton 49: The Rams (3-2, 1-1) led by 20 points after three quarters and coasted to the SOL Colonial win on Tuesday night. Matt Campione led Pennridge with 19 points, while Xavier Peters added 12 and Jake Buesing finished with 10. James Blair led Souderton (1-3, 1-1) with 16 points, while Jared Zimmerman added 13.

Perk Valley 51, Lansdale Catholic 40: PV pulled away from LC in a back-and-forth nonconference affair on Tuesday night. The Vikings closed the game with a 23-12 run after LC had tied the game up at 28 entering the fourth quarter. The Crusaders used a furious 21-4 third-quarter spurt to get back in the game. LC’s Evan Lojewski scored 13 points, 9 in the second half, and Gio Zito scored all of his 10 points in the second half.

Dock Mennonite 62, Delco Christian 34: Nine players scored in all for Dock as the Pioneers won the BAL contest on Tuesday ight. Vaughn Martin, AJ Washington and Lane Bergey all reached double figures for Dock (4-1, 2-0). The Pioneers, who led wire-to-wire, finished the game with 10 3-pointers.

Central Bucks East 61, Central Bucks South 58: Justin DiRoberto hit an old-fashioned three-point play with eight seconds remaining and East escaped with the win on Tuesday night. DiRoberto, who finished with 8 points, also hit a key 3-pointer down the stretch for the Patriots. Jacob Cummiskey led the way in scoring for CB East with 21 points, while Tyler Dandrea added 11. Dalton VanZanten led South with 14 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Plymouth Whitemarsh 57, Quakertown 28: The Colonials (4-1, 1-1) went on a 34-12 run in the second half and coasted to the SOL Liberty win on Tuesday night. Abby Sharpe led the way for PW with 23 points, while Erin Daley added 18. Carolyn Sipprell paced Quakertown with 12 points.

Upper Moreland 45, William Tennent 24: The Golden Bears outscored the Panthers in every quarter and coasted to the SOL Freedom win on Tuesday night. Emmy Faith Wood scored 9 of her 11 game-high points in the second half for Upper Moreland. Tennent was led by Avery Kocur and Halie Staub, who both scored six points.

Souderton 54, Pennridge 34: Casey Harter finished with 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 4-for-4 from 3-point range, as the Indians pulled away from the Rams for the SOL Colonial win on Tuesday night. Harter also added six rebounds. Teya McConnaha added 14 points and 9 rebounds, while Erin Bohmueller chipped in with 7 points, 6 assists and 2 blocks. Ella Brown led Pennridge with 12 points, while Katie Yoder added 11.

Abington 71, Hatboro-Horsham 55: The Ghosts improved to 4-0 behind 21 points from Jordyn Reynolds on Tuesday night. Cire Worley added 17 for the Ghosts, while Piper McGinley added 11.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy 51, Merion Mercy 25: Bailey Balkir led a balanced attack with 15 points as the Monarchs won going away on Tuesday night. Hannah Griffin and Dylan Burke both scored 8 points for GMA.

WRESTLING
Academy New Church 42, SCH Academy 18: The Lions closed the match with six consecutive victories and walked away with the win on Tuesday. Chase Thygeson started the streak with a pin over Matthew Rizzo in 1:07. Trent Layton, Aharon Bloshuk, Brady Carver, Leonard Kline and Coleman Boyesen all followed with wins.

GIRLS SWIMMING
Souderton 105, Pennsbury 71: Jessica Burns won the 50 free in 24.93 and was a part of the winning 200 medley relay in 1:53.27 as the Indians held on for the win on Tuesday. Morgan James, Amy Masciulli and Anna Stauffer were also on the winning relay. Stauffer also won the 200 free in 2:04.20 for Souderton, while James won the 200 IM in 2:27.28. Riley Weikel was a winner for the Indians in the 100 fly (1:02.61), while Ann Carol Descher took first in the 100 free in 57.04. Masciulli was a winner in the 500 free in 5:31.15, while Riley Weikel, Molly Goodman, Molly Kreag and Descher closed things out for the Indians by winning the 200 free relay in 1:46.81.

BOYS SWIMMING
Souderton 105.50, Pennsbury 71.50: Robbie Ferlick led the way for the Indians with wins in the 200 free (1:47.48) and 100 fly (53.36) on Tuesday. Ferlick also combined with Matvey Andryushin, Logan Freed and Nathan Kleppinger to take first in the 200 free relay in 1:32.65. Andryushin also won the 50 free and hooked up with Lincoln Annise, William Stanczewski and Freed to place first in the 200 medley relay in 1:44.61. Freed also won the 100 free in 51.78, while Kleppinger took first in the 500 free in 5:26.96 and Abraham Bleazard was a winner in the 100 back (59.44).
