Boys soccer
Souderton 1, North Penn 0: Brayden Power broke up a scoreless tie in the 63rd minute as the Indians won a SOL Colonial thriller on Friday. Ethan Lacher was credited with the assist, while Chris McKenna made four saves in net. Both teams are jostling for the District 1-4A playoffs with the Indians improving to 28th with a 7-9 record, while NP is 25th with a 7-8-1 mark.

Girls soccer
Perk Valley 2, Lansdale Catholic 0: Gia Marciano scored 1:13 into the contest as PV won the nonconference tilt on Friday. Mia Milleo also scored for the Vikings. Cassidy Saulino made two saves in net for LC.

North Penn 2, Souderton 0: Andie Salmon and Lauren Blanch provided the offense as the Knights (5-9-1) picked up the SOL Colonial victory on Friday.
“Tough one today. We had a bit of a sloppy first half and slowly worked our way into the game,” said Souderton Head Coach Ian Smith. “Abby Allen was called into action on a number of set pieces throughout the half and proved to be up to the task. We did a good job of limiting the long ball from North Penn and were slowly able to catch them offsides. Toward the end of the half we were able to apply some pressure, but struggled to create some quality chances, which has been our Achilles’ heel.”

Field hockey
Wissahickon 7, Abington 0: Riley Ball scored four goals on Friday as the Trojans improved to a perfect 17-0 on the season. Caroline Kirkpatrick added two goals, while Emma Hummel came through with a goal and an assist. Sophia Havrilla added two assists for Wissahickon. Nina VanEkelenburg and Caitlin Murcur combined for seven saves for Abington (10-5).

North Penn 1, CB South 1: Catherine McGeehan scored in the first quarter, but that was all the scoring for the Knights on Friday in a defensive SOL Colonial battle. Kiera Holt made 10 saves for North Penn (8-8-1), while backs Annabelle Smink and Melissa Sessler kept South at bay.
“It was a defensive battle at CB South today as a lot of the game was played in the midfield with a lot of back and forth play,” NP Head Coach Shannon McCracken said. “The exception was the fourth quarter where the Knights were able to hold off South and force overtime after South had possession of the ball for the better part of the quarter.”

Girls volleyball
