Lower Moreland 3, Merion Mercy 2: The Lions swept the doubles matches and pulled out a thrilling match to capture the District 1-2A title on Tuesday. While the three Kideckel sisters have had stellar seasons, it was the depth that shined through on Tuesday. The No. 1 duo of Anya Yang/Lexie Moore posted a double-bagel victory over Kathryn Wert and Sarah Maloney. Then Ava Shapiro/ Catherine Lemiasheuski closed it out with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles over Sarah Maloney/Margie Perner. For good measure, senior Sarah Kideckel also posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. The best matches of the day were at the top of the lineup where Merion Mercy’s Sofia Berestetska defeated Hannah Kideckel 7-5, 6-4 and Ashley Gomes edged Rebecca Kideckel 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 at No. 2 singles. In the end, Lower Moreland advanced to the PIAA 2A Championships Oct. 28th at the Hershey Racquet Club.

Girls Soccer
Pope John Paul II 2, Upper Merion 0: Freshman Olivia Rubinich scored both goals as the Golden Panthers picked up the PAC Frontier win on Tuesday. Assists were provided by junior Cameron Schuler. PJP goalie Kyanni Escudero provided the clean sheet with eight saves.

Methacton 3, Boyertown 2: Liv Navarrete scored with less than six minutes to go off a dish from Aubrey Beaugard on Tuesday as the Warriors won the PAC Liberty contest on Tuesday. Beaugard added another assist as Mia Chan started off the scoring for Methacton. Mackenzie Coupe also scored to tie the game at 2-2 off a dish from Katie Roznisky in a back-and-forth affair. Riley McDonald and Mairi Smith combined for 12 saves for Methacton (4-10-2).

William Tennent 3, Upper Moreland 0: The Panthers took a 1-0 lead into halftime and rallied for the win on Tuesday in SOL Freedom action. Theresa Ditri, Jackie Sowers and Kaitlyn Everly delivered the goals for Panthers. Erin Somerville was credited with one assist.
“We had a tough time getting into a rhythm in the first half,” UM Head Coach Lisa Benvenuto said. “We knew Tennent was going to show up tonight, not only for a rematch but also with it being their Senior Night. Throughout the game we struggled to create our offensive opportunities and Tennent was able to capitalize on theirs. They played a solid game. We will regroup, and continue to learn and improve.”

North Penn 2, Central Bucks West 0: Maddie Murphy got a goal and an assist from the Knights on Tuesday in SOL Colonial action. Andie Salmon also scored for North Penn.

Pennridge 5, Souderton 0: Five different players scored for the Rams in a SOL Colonial win on Tuesday. Joey Tomlinson, Liv Grenda, Tori Angelo, Lindsey Balmer and Hailey Primwhere did the damage for the Rams.

Boys Soccer
Pennridge 2, Souderton 1, 2 OT: Shane Velez tied the game up and then Troy Thanel delivered the double overtime winner on Tuesday for the Rams in a thriller. Bradyen Power scored for the Big Red, while Chris McKenna had five saves for Souderton.

Archbishop Wood 1, Roman Catholic 0, 2 OT: Chris Branchide delivered on a header off a free kick in double OT off a feed from Logan Savage on Tuesday night.

Girls Volleyball
Souderton 3, Quakertown 1: The Indians rallied for a four-set win (21-25, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-16) on Senior Night behind 3 kills, 5 aces and 2 digs from Alli Sauerwald. Also standing out for Souderton were Grace Boyd (1 kill, 20 assists, 2 digs), Teya McConnaha (10 kills, 4 blocks, 1 assist, 1 dig), Maddie Runk (9 digs) and Alexa Mazzeo (18 digs, 6 aces and 1 assist).

Central Bucks South 3, Central Bucks West 2: The Bucks lost a heartbreaker to their rivals in five sets (14-25, 25-16, 25-19, 13-25 and 15-13) on Tuesday in SOL Continental action. Standing out for West were Rachel Hu (12 kills, 3 aces, 20 digs), Alexis Barklage (9 kills, 4 aces), Sarah Miller (7 kills), Presley Adams (6 kills, 2 digs), Hollis Walton (3 kills, 1 block), Alexa Lee (3 aces, 10 digs) and Elisa Kremser (2 kills, 1 ace, 4 digs, 27 assists).

Pope John Paul II 3, Archbishop Carroll 0: The Golden Panthers picked up the nonconference win on Tuesday by scores of 25-5, 25-21 and 25-8. Hutton Cordrey led the way with 11 kills, while Gabriella Cooper won 24 service points. Grace Cooper added 15 digs, while Madison Monahan had 33 assists and 7 digs.
