FIELD HOCKEY
North Penn 7, Pennsbury 1: Grace McGeehan scored North Penn’s first two goals while Caleigh Sperling tallied the next two – McGeehan collecting the assist on the second – as the Knights rolled to an SOL crossover win Thursday.
Lauren Albert had two goals and an assist for North Penn (4-2-0, 4-1-0 SOL Colonial). Jillian DelGiorno also scored with Erika Pickford recording an assist. Knights goalie Kiley Moister mad six saves while Melissa Sessler had a defensive save.
Ayla Alon scored for Pennsbury (3-4-0, 1-4-0 SOL Patriot) off a Meg McClure assist.
Wissahickon 10, William Tennent 0: Kendall Crowley scored a hat trick in the first quarter, Caroline Kirkpatrick collected two goals and two assists and Wissahickon cruised to an SOL crossover win to remain undefeated.
Riley Ball totaled two goals and an assist, Ella Hummel added a goal and two assists while Kayla Mullin handed out two assists for the Trojans (7-0-0, 6-0-0 SOL Liberty), who led 8-0 at halftime.
Sophia Havrilla had a goal and an assist with Faith Jampo also scoring for Wiss. Kayla Park and Audrey Walsh each had an assist.
Goalie Cailyn George made 18 saves for William Tennent (1-6-0, 1-5-0 SOL Freedom). Trojans goalkeeper Meredith Walsh had one save.
Springfield-Montco 2, Upper Dublin 1: Norah Conlin had a goal and an assist while Angela Eder also scored for Springfield as it edged Upper Dublin for a fourth straight win.
Emma Yoder collected an assist for the Spartans (5-2-0, 5-1-0 SOL Freedom) with goalie Kennedy Braddock making three saves.
Upper Dublin (3-4-1, 2-3-1 SOL Liberty) had its two-game win streak snapped.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Central Bucks West 3, Central Bucks South 1: Alexis Barklage totaled 19 kills, three blocks and ace as Central Bucks West took the final two sets to top Central Bucks South in four (25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 25-23) in the SOL Continental match.
Rachel Hu had 14 digs, 11 aces and six kills, Erin Ferello finished with 24 assists and 11 digs while Caroline Taylor had 12 digs, a kill and an ace for the Bucks. Alexa Lee added 10 digs and four aces Hollis Walton collected three kills and three blocks with Mackenzie Lund posting three kills and two blocks.
Souderton 3, Quakertown 0: Teya McConnaha put down 10 kills while also chipping in three aces, two digs and two blocks as Souderton swept Quakertown 25-15, 25-13, 25-23 for an SOL Continental victory.
Grace Boyd had 19 assists, six digs, two aces and a kill for the Indians. Alexa Mazzeo registered 11 digs and four aces with Zoe Folk finishing with seven digs and six aces.
Germantown Academy 3, Archbishop Wood 0: Caroline Smith finished with 14 kills and three aces as Germantown Academy swept Archbishop Wood 28-26, 25-18, 25-20 for a nonleague victory Wednesday.
Angie Wang had 25 assists while Kate Stone added five kills for the Patriots, who fought of two sets points in the opening game, took a 25-24 lead on a Kaitlyn Pokorny kill in winning 28-26.
A Smith run of kills and aces in the second set gave GA a 21-14 as they took a 2-0 lead in the match. Tied 16-16 in the third set, the Patriots grabbed control with six straight points.
GIRLS SOCCER
Gwynedd Mercy 2, Villa Maria 1: Ella Koschineg scored on a free kick while Hannah Griffin converted a penalty as Gwynedd Mercy topped Villa Maria to stay undefeated.
Goalie Ellie Verrill mad four saves for the Monarchs (5-0-0, 2-0-0 AACA).
Archbishop Wood 4, Cardinal O’Hara 0 >> Ava DeGeorge scored twice and also added an assist as Archbishop Wood shut out Cardinal O’Hara for a PCL win.
Shaina Klose and Sophia Topakas each had a goal for the Vikings (4-1-0, 2-0-0 league) with Avery Lubbe and Paige Eckert both picking up an assist.
Upper Merion 0, Phoenixville 0: Multiple saves from goalkeeper Olivia Smith and strong play from defenders Brooke Olsen, Julia Newby, Riley Robinson and Sydney Marchese helped Upper Merion earned a PAC Frontier Division tie Wednesday.
GIRLS TENNIS
Upper Dublin 4, Abington 3: Upper Dublin used three doubles victories and Kaelin Penna’s 6-2, 6-0 win over Cindy Fu at third singles to edge Abington in the SOL Liberty dual match.
The Cardinals’ Ava Trauger and Brie Watlington won first doubles 6-1, 6-3 over Jada Young and Jada Coleman.
Abington’s Alejandra Grand-Tono took first singles 6-1, 7-5 over Ciara Peyton while the Galloping Ghosts’ Isabela Grand-Tono won second doubles over Eva Yang 6-4, 6-0.
Spring-Ford 5, Methacton 2: Methacton earned victories at second singles — Alice Liang defeating Spring-Ford’s Evelyn Mejia 6-1, 6-2 — and second doubles — Dru O’Brien and Carlee Dellose topping Katie Tiffan and Ayushi Jain 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) — as the Warriors fell in the PAC dual match.
Wissahickon 7, Plymouth Whitemarsh 0: YiYi Huang earned a 6-1, 6-3 first-singles victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh’s Hope Nasatir as Wissahickon swept the SOL Liberty dual match.
The Trojans’ first doubles pair of Claira Baldasano and Hannah Yum defeated Olivia Prusky and Skyler Alten 6-2, 6-1.
