Central Bucks West 3, North Penn 2: The Knights had some opportunities early, but in the end the Bucks survived in SOL Colonial action on Thursday. Calista Boos started the scoring for the Bucks in the second quarter, while Nina Mayto and Kendall Siegle added tallies for the Bucks. Catherine McGeehan and Caleigh Sperling scored for the Knights. West’s Kendra Pitts was stellar in net with 13 saves, while NP’s Kiera Holt had seven saves.
“It was a fast-paced and intense game that had October feels to it,” said NP head coach Shannon McCracken. “Unfortunately, North Penn couldn’t convert some early scoring opportunities after forcing multiple corners in the first quarter.”
The Knights (1-1) are home Tuesday against Souderton, while the Bucks are at CB South on Tuesday.
New Hope-Solebury 2: Springfield Twp. 1: Norah Colin scored off a feed from Emma Yoder but the Spartans dropped the SOL Freedom contest on Thursday. Grace Bell and Kennedy Braddock combined for seven saves.
Girls Soccer
Gwynedd Mercy 1, Conwell-Egan 0: The Monarchs moved to 2-0 on the season after a goal by Kat Pluck off a feed from Caroline Drakeley. Ellie Verill was solid in net with six saves.
Girls Tennis
Methacton 7, Perkiomen Valley 0: The Warriors didn’t drop a set in rolling to the PAC win on Thursday. The best match of the day was Dru O’Brien and Carlee Dellose at No. 2 doubles with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Riya Mishra/Vienna Li.
Upper Merion 6, Pottstown 1: The Vikings’ doubles teams lost one game in two flights as the Vikings won big on Thursday. Colette Egan and Ishita Singh finished things off at No. 2 doubles with a 6-0, 6-0 double-bagel.
Owen J. Roberts 4, Pope John Paul II 3: The Golden Panthers got swept out of singles action and dropped the match on Thursday. PJP did respond by winning the top three flights in doubles led by Victoria Wagner and Molly Houchins at No. 3 with a 7-5, 6-1 win.
Wissahickon 7, Hatboro-Horsham 0: The Trojans had little trouble in picking up the SOL Liberty win on Thursday. In fact, the Trojans lost three games on the day. Saachi Mehta and Nicolette Agassi both won by double-bagels.
Girls Volleyball
Central Bucks West 3, Archbishop Carroll 0: The Bucks won in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-19. Leading the way was Alexis Barklage with 11 kills, while Hollis Watson added eight kills and one ace. Also standing out for the Bucks were Mackenzie Lund (7 kills), Lily Rasnake (6 kills), Rachel Hu (8 digs, 3 aces, 3 kills), Caroline Taylor (7 digs, 4 aces, 1 kill), Elisa Kremser (4 kills, 14 assists, 3 digs) and Erin Ferello (2 aces, 14 assists, 5 digs).
Pope John Paul II 3, Villa Maria 1: The Golden Panthers pulled out the win by scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-11 and 25-17 behind a big day from Hutton Cordrey, who had 12 kills and 20 digs. Grace Cooper added 26 digs, while Madison Monahan added 30 assists.
