Boys’ Swimmer/Diver of the Year – Nick Harris, Malvern Prep

FIRST TEAM
Jake Wang, Conestoga
Sophomore finished first in the boys 100 breast (54.95) and placed third in the boys 200 IM at States. Was part of the Pioneers’ first-place boys 200 medley relay (1:32.53) and fourth-place boys 400 free relay at States, and was the Boys Swimmer of the Meet at the District 1 3A Championships.
Liam Simmons, Kennett
Senior captain, the Ches-Mont Swimmer of the Year, was third at States in boys 100 back, 15th in 100 free and helped 200 medley relay place in top 20. At Districts, finished first in the 100 back and was an All-American, and placed second in 100 free. Set four team records this past winter.
Dylan Smolders, West Chester Henderson
Senior finished ninth in the boys 200IM and 11th in the boys 500 free at States, and placed fourth at Districts in both the 200 IM and 500 free. Had the fastest time in the Ches-Mont League in boys boys 200 IM and boys 500 free. Was part of the Warriors’ state-qualifying boys 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
Kevin Cary, Malvern Prep
Senior captain finished first in the 200 free and fourth in the 500 free at Easterns. Was All-American in both events, as well as in the 200 and 400 free relays. All-Inter-Ac swimmer was Most Valuable Player of a strong Friars swimming and diving squad.
Alex Karahalis, Oxford
Junior finished fourth in the 100 fly at States, where he also placed fifth in 100 breast. At Districts, he finished first in 100 fly (49.32) and second in 100 breast. Was also an integral part of 200 IM relay and 400 free re-lay teams that qualified for Districts.
Gary Wang, Conestoga
Senior finished fifth in the boys 100 back and second in the B final of the boys 100 fly at States. Was part of the Pioneers’ first-place boys 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:32.53 at States.
