Mercury Roundup (April 5): Phoenixville edges Upper Perk in extras
SOFTBALL
Phoenixville 2, Upper Perkiomen 0 (8 inn.)
Highlights: The Phantoms plated two runs in the top of the eighth to take down Frontier rival Upper Perk on Tuesday. A woods scored on a wild pitch, and G Capelli knocked in another with a double to add an insurance run in the extra frame. Arayana Ashlie allowed just three hits in an eight-inning complete game, striking out seven, while IP’s Madalyn Dyer tossed seven shutout inning before Phoenixville finally got to her in the eighth.
Pottsgrove 16, Pottstown 0 (3 inn.)
Highlights: Bailey Pysher had a hit an all three at-bats, tallying a pair of doubles and four RBI as the Falcons cruised in three innings in Monday’s PAC Frontier win. Mikayla Eckman struck out seven and allowed just three hits in three innings.
Spring-Ford 12, Norristown 0 (5 inn.)
Highlights: Jules Scogna and Jessica Fliszar combined on a two-hitter as the Rams used seven-run fourth at-bat to make quick work of the Eagles Tuesday.
Scogna and Fliszar each recorded five strikeouts while Morgan Lester (three RBI) and Ali Wescott hit pairs of doubles to spark the offense.
BASEBALL
Perkiomen School 11, Barrack Hebrew 1 (5 inn.)
Highlights: Calvin Dymond and Erick Diaz threw a combined no hitter to help the Panthers make quick work of Barrack Tuesday.
Dymond racked up six strikeouts in three innings, and Diaz fanned another five in two. Diaz also brought the 10-run rule into effect with a game ending two- run home run in the fifth.
Muhlenberg 7, Daniel Boone 4
Highlights: Giovanni Cavanna broke open a 4-4 game in the top of the ninth inning with a two run single and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Cameron Burr to lead the Muhls to victory over the Blazers.
For the Muhls, Brad Cooley pitched five innings of no hit baseball recording 8 strikeouts and allowing just one earned run. Derek Wilson picked up the win in relief, going three innings and allowing just an RBI single to Dylan Gass which temporarily gave the Blazers a one run lead heading into the 7th inning.

Highlights: Kiki Rotay (3 caused turnovers, 3 ground balls and 7 draw controls) and Mackenzie Hanlon (3 caused turnovers, 4 draw controls) both netted four goals in Tuesday’s PAC Crossover win over Upper Merion.
