Girls basketball
Methacton 64, North Penn 42 >> After a tight first quarter, the Warriors pulled away and won their second game of the day. Nicole Timko led the way for Methacton (7-1) with 22 points and 6 steals, while Mairi Smith added 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Abby Plaugher paced North Penn (2-6) with 15 points.
Methacton 74, Norristown 25 >> The Eagles raced out to a 34-7 lead after one quarter and won big in the PAC contest on Saturday. Pacing the Warriors was Nicole Timko with 13 points, while Cassidy Kropp added 11. Azjiona Golston added 14 points for Norristown.
Nazareth Academy 65, Abington Friends 46 >> AFS dropped the nonconference game on Saturday despite 27 points from Aniyah Howard. Hannah Rhoades also chipped in with 10 for the Roos.
Perk Valley 61, Pennridge 53 >> Katie Yoder poured in 18 points, but the Rams dropped the nonconference game on Saturday. Emma Pyne added 14 for Pennridge.
Boys basketball
Perk Valley 60, Pennridge 41 >> The Rams were outscored in every quarter and dropped the nonconference game on Saturday. Matt Campione and Tommy Cramer led a balanced Pennridge attack, each scoring 8 points. Josh Pelzer led PV with 17 points.
Upper Dublin 61, Holy Ghost 28 >> DJ Cersier scored 14 points as the Cardinals (7-2) picked up the nonconference win on Saturday. Freshman Ryan Mulroy chipped in with 10 points. Upper Dublin returns to action Tuesday at Tennent.
Wissahickon 68, Central 43 >> With Josh Twersky sidelined for most of the game with foul trouble, the Trojans dug in and still earned the nonconference win on Saturday. Sophomore Domenic Vacchiano and junior point guard Earl Stout led the way with 17 and 16 points respectively. Senior Morgan Wilson added 11 of his own. Wiss (7-3) will next be on the court at home against Upper Moreland on Tuesday.
Jenkintown 57, Lincoln Leadership Academy 20 >> The Drakes picked up a nonconference win on Saturday.
Phoenixville 55, Dock 48 >> After a strong first quarter, the Pioneers fell short against the Phantoms in a nonconference showdown on Saturday. Tomir Johnson paced the Pioneers with 15 points. Dock outscored Phoenxville 15-7 in the first quarter before the Phantoms responded with an 18-5 run in the second quarter.
Wrestling
WC East 39, North Penn 30 >> The Knights lost a heartbreaker on Saturday despite winning five bouts. Winning by fall were William Morrow at 152, Brayden Shannon at 160, Dylan Verway at 172, Devon Pinkert at 285 and Dylan Reinhard at 126. The match went out of NP’s favor as the Knights had to forfeit at 215 and 132.
Hatboro-Horsham 39, Phoenixville 24 >> The Hatters picked up the win at the Rage in the Cage on Saturday behind victories in six bouts. Winning by fall were Chris Staub at 138, John Volpe at 145, Joe Martini III at 160 and Ryan Allgeier at 106.
Downingtown East 48, Hatboro-Horsham 29 >> The Hatters lost the match at the Rage in the Cage despite winning five bouts. Winning by fall were Chris Staub at 132, Joe Martini III at 152, Ryan Allgeier at 106 and Andy Alameda-Guzman at 215.
Kennett 51, Hatboro-Horsham 15 >> The Hatters lost the bout on Saturday despite winning three bouts. Winning by fall for the Hatters were Ryan Allgeier at 106 and Chris Staub at 132.
