GIRLS BASKETBALL

Upper Merion 59, Pottstown 57: Upper Merion earned its first win in two seasons with a balanced effort Tuesday that was led by the 13-point, 15-rebound performance of Olivia Smith. Also in double figures for UM was Devon Maiden, Riley Anderson and Mia Nicolai.
Shorthanded Pottstown had only three scorers with Trinell Watson and Tamya Jarett putting up matching 24-point games.

Owen J. Roberts 59, Boyertown 30: The Wildcats dropped the hammer in the third quarter and got a 17-point night from Asya Price for a PAC Liberty win Tuesday. Avery White (14) and Gabbi Koury (11) were also in double figures for OJR.

Pope John Paul II 51, Upper Perkiomen 34: J.P. Baron torched the nets for a game-high 23 points Tuesday, heading the Golden Panthers’ PAC Frontier Division win over the Indians.
Baron scored nine of his points in the second quarter, helping PJP build a 27-11 lead. Jaden Workman chipped in with another 14 while UP got a team-high 12 from Kyle Clancy.

Phoenixville 94, Pope John Paul II 70: Nick Darragh was part of three wins the Phantoms scored in their Pioneer Athletic Conference meet with the Golden Panthers.

Darragh headed the 50 free (29.88) and 100 free (1:08.75) in addition to swimming the lead leg of Phoenixville’s 200 medley relay (2:09.48). PJP had two double-race winners in Henry Phillips (100 fly, 500 free) and Aidan Maiale (200 IM, 100 breast).

Incollingo headed the diving competition (183.80 points) and 100 fly (57.2), with Replogle doing the same in the 500 free (4:48.95) and 100 back (53.94). They also swam legs on PV’s first-place 200 medley relay, which clocked a 1:45.46.

Cano took the 50 free (22.43) and 100 free (50.21) while also swimming the anchor leg of Roberts’ winning 200 free relay (1:32.05). Richards had a similar outing for Owen J: Firsts in the 200 free (1:45.49) and 500 free (4:41.87) and the lead leg in the 200 medley relay. (1:44.81).

Larkin individually took the 200 free (1:51.85) and 500 free (5:05.72) while anchoring the 200 free relay to another first (1:38.72). Methacton got double-win outings from Dylan Phan (200 IM, 100 breast), Tommy Gibbs (50 free, 100 fly) and Christopher Groff (100 free, 100 back).

Phoenixville 103, Pope John Paul II 66: Maddy Deeney and Hadley Mardis combined on six first-place finishes the Phantoms had in their Pioneer Athletic Conference meet with the Golden Panthers.

Deeney won the 50 free (30.30) and 500 free (4:58.83) while Mardis headed the 100 free (1:09.33) and 100 back (1:19.69). They also swam legs on Phoenixville’s winning 200 medley (2:21.46) and 400 free relays (4:43.77).

In addition to winning the 500 free (5:41.57), Dittmar swam legs of PV’s first-place 200 medley (2:05.70) and 400 free relays (4:13.91). Olivia Palubinski duplicated Dittmar’s showing with her first in the 100 free (1:03.50) and legs on the winning relays.

Zelinske’s firsts came in the 200 free (1:57.36) and 500 free (5:23.90), and she swam the anchor leg of OJR’s 200 free relay (1:40.64). Ashley Gutshall gave Spring-Ford individual firsts in the 50 free (24.30) and 100 free (52.41).
