The West Chester East boys basketball team defeated Coatesville, 67-61, Tuesday evening in overtime at Jack “Shug” Byrne Gymnasium. West Chester East sophomore Ryan Price led all scorers with 26 points, including five treys. Jack Kushner chipped in with 17 points, and the Vikings’ KJ Cochran added 13.
For Coatesville, Jaeden Brickus and Jaylin McNeil each tallied 16 points and Jeremiah Marshall added 12 points.

West Chester Henderson 61, Downingtown East 54 >> The Warriors had a balanced scoring attack, led by Eddie Smink (13 points), Nyle-Ralph-Beyer (12), Nelson Laminzana (11) and Connor Fleet (11). The Cougars got 30 points from Connor Shanahan and 17 points from George Bousum.
Unionville 58, West Chester Rustin 52 >> A trio of Longhorns scored 11 points each – James Anderson, Jake Kammeier and Nick Diehl. For the Golden Knights, Ian Schlesinger scored 14 points and Tyler Giunta 13.

Great Valley 65, William Tennant 51 >> In this Monday contest, the Patriots trailed by 11 points in the first quarter, rallied to tie the score at halftime, and outscored Tennant 36-22 in the second half. William Otterbein scored 12 points (went 4-for-7 from the three-point line), freshman standout Cam Wallace tallied 19 points, and senior guard Connor Gal led all scorers with 21.

Downingtown East 38, West Chester Henderson 34 >> The Cougars outscored the Warriors 29-18 in the second half to overcome a 16-9 halftime deficit, led by a strong effort on the defensive end of the floor. Downingtown East had a balanced scoring attack, with Lauren Kent scoring 10 points, Ari Smuda 9, Jordyn Daniel 8 and Eileen Hewitt 8. For the Warriors, Lilly Person had 10 points and Eva Stromberg tallied eight, and Jackie Shea pulled down 14 rebounds.
Coatesville 52, West Chester East 38 >> Senior Danae Ellzy led host Coatesville with 19 points in the Raiders’ home opener, while teammates Alexis Fields and Paityn Forest each chipped in with 13. Annalise Kubasko led West Chester East with 19 points.
