BOYS BASKETBALL

Methacton 59, Plymouth Whitemarsh 50 >> The Warriors improved to 4-0 with the win over the Colonials Saturday in a nonconference tilt. Cam Chilson delivered a key 3-pointer down the stretch when the Colonials were making their move. Brett Byrne led the way for Methacton with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Cole Hargrove added 14 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks, while Chilson finished with 12. Jaden Colzie and Quidire Bennett each had 17 points for PW, which outscored the Warriors 36-25 during the second half.

Dock 79, La Academia Partnership 51 >> The Pioneers jumped out to an early lead and never let up on Saturday. Nathan Lapp led a balanced Dock scoring attack with 23 points. Lane Bergey chipped in with 15 points, while Tomar Johnson added 13 as Dock finished out a three-win week.

Shenandoah Valley 70, Jenkintown 53 >> The Drakes fell behind 17-3 after one quarter and were forced to be playing catch up the rest of the day. Jake Hilton paced the Drakes with 25 points, including six 3-pointers.

Pope John Paul II 72, Lansdale Catholic 54 >> JP Baron scored 24 points as the Golden Panthers won big in a nonconference tilt on Saturday. Jaden Workman added 19 for PJP II. LC was led by Jake Coonahan, who finished with 19 points.

WRESTLING

Hatboro-Horsham 39, Central Buks West 36 >> The Hatters pinned a tough loss on the Bucks, winning by fall in five matches in picking up the victory on Saturday. Winning by pins were Carter Murray at 126, Chris Staub at 132, Joe Martini III at 152, Brady Pagano at 172 and Hunter Long at 189. Winning by fall for the Bucks were Patrick Kelly at 113, Jett Mullin at 145, Andrew Gilroy at 160, and Carl DiGiorgio at 285.

Pennsbury 52, Hatboro-Horsham 14 >> Carter Murray won by fall at 126, but the Hatters dropped the match at Pennsbury on Saturday. Chris Staub at 132 and Joe Martini III at 152 also won bouts for the Hatters.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Methacton 60, Mount St. Joseph 40 >> In Methacton coach Craig Kaminsky’s 500th game at the helm, the Warriors (3-1) rolled past The Magic (3-2) on Saturday. Nicole Timko led the way with 19 points, while Mairi Smith added 12 points and 8 boards. Lauren Hoffman paced Mount St. Joe’s with 12 points and Kiersten Pumilla added 10.

Archbishop Carroll 57, Holmdel (N.J.) 42 >> The Patriots raced out to a 35-18 halftime advantage and never looked back against the host school. Taylor Wilson led Archbishop Carroll with 16 points and five rebounds, while Grace O’Neill added 13.

Downingtown West 55, Upper Merion 18 >> The Vikings fell behind 22-9 after one quarter and dropped the nonconference affair on Saturday. Riley Anderson led the Vikings with 11 points.
