GIRLS SOCCER
Pennridge 4, Central Bucks South 1 >> Pennridge earned a share of the Suburban One League Colonial Division title with Central Bucks East by claiming a road victory over Central Bucks South Thursday.
The SOL title is the sixth straight for the Rams (15-3-0, 13-3-0 division), who have won their last two games.
Central Bucks East 3, North Penn 0 >> Central Bucks East scored all three goals after halftime and shut out North Penn to secure a share of the SOL Colonial title – the Patriots’ first since winning the SOL Continental Conference in 2015.
The loss dropped the Knights to 7-10-1 (7-8-1 division). East improved to 15-3-0 (13-3-0).
Upper Moreland 1, New Hope-Solebury 0 >> Brooke Lobban scored the SOL Freedom Division game’s lone goal after halftime, finding the back of the net at 56:28 as Upper Moreland (10-6-2, 8-6-2) extended its unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1).
“On the front line Brooke Lobban and Kyra Favors high pressured New Hope’s back line and played so well off of each other,” UM coach Lisa Benvenuto said. “That is how our goal developed. We had a solid build up the ball was out into the box, and Kyra got a good shot on goal that rebounded out to Brooke who finished.”
Abington 2, Quakertown 1 >> Abington scored twice in the final four minutes of the SOL Liberty contest to edge Quakertown for a second straight win.
Carley Slavin scored the first goal for the Ghosts (13-5-0, 12-4-0), heading in Maura Day’s free kick. Day tallied Abington’s second, heading a ball in off a Piper McGinley corner.
BOYS SOCCER
North Penn 1, Central Bucks East 0 >> Hunter Stites scored 30 second into the match and North Penn made the goal hold up as the Knights secured at least a share of the SOL Colonial Division title with their third win in a row.
North Penn (13-4-0, 12-3-0) has now claimed six straight SOL titles and can take the division outright with win or draw when it hosts Souderton 2 p.m. Saturday. The Knights and Pennridge are currently tied atop the Colonial standings at 36 points.
Central Bucks East (10-5-3, 9-4-3) had a three-game win streak snapped.
Pennridge 2, Central Bucks South 1 (2OT) >> Aidan Castle struck in double overtime to keep Pennridge’s chances to earn a share of the SOL Colonial title alive.
The Rams (13-2-3, 11-2-3) end their regular season by going unbeaten in their last six (5-0-1).
Souderton 1, Central Bucks West 0 >> Brandon Fornwall scored the 35th minute off a Thomas Smith assist as Souderton defeated Central Bucks West to stop a three-game winless skid.
Aidan McClure had three saves for the Indians (10-4-3, 8-4-3 SOL Colonial). The loss was the fifth straight for the Bucks (5-12-1, 5-10-1 SOL Colonial).
Abington 6, Quakertown 0 >> Abington rolled past Quakertown for a second straight win as the SOL Liberty champion Galloping Ghosts ended their regular season 15-2-1 (13-2-1 division).
Holy Ghost Prep 1, Dock Mennonite 0 (OT) >> Tony Conlon gave Holy Ghost Prep the overtime nonleague win over with his goal at 81:14.
Goalie Braden Churches made 13 saves for Dock Mennonite (9-4-4), which went to OT for the sixth time this season. HGP keeper Timothy Devine had two saves.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Plymouth Whitemarsh 0 >> Senior setter Grace Howard finished with 46 assists, seven digs and three aces as Hatboro-Horsham won its fourth consecutive SOL American Conference title by sweeping Plymouth Whitemarsh 25-12, 29-17, 25-9.
Kayla Jones had 12 kills and three blocks, Jade Lauzier collected 10 kills and three blocks while Nastya Tsetsko had 10 kills and a block for the Hatters (16-2, 11-1), who hit .442 as a team and recorded a total of 14 aces.
Isabella Bombas added six kills and a block while Maci Lumpkin made nine digs. Elizabeth Morgan and Ava Santo each had four digs with Abigail Kosmalski making three digs.
Central Bucks East 3, Souderton 2 >> Souderton took the first two sets but Central Bucks East rallied back to win the SOL Continental match in five 21-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-9.
Alexa Mazzeo had 24 digs, four aces and three kills for Souderton while Nikki Hamilton finished with 37 assists, 13 digs and two aces. Alyssa Reiner had 12 kills and two digs, Teya McConaha collecting 11 kills and a block while Alli Sauerwald added 10 kills and three digs.
FIELD HOCKEY
Villa Maria 4, Archbishop Carroll 0 >> Gia Whalen scored twice as host Villa Maria shut out Archbishop Carroll in their nonleague matchup.
Maia Dechiario and Annie Shaw each had a goal for the Hurricanes.
Carroll goalie Reilly McMenamin made 13 saves as the Patriots fell to 11-5 (7-0 PCL). Villa keeper Abbie Zarkowski had five saves.
Jenkintown 3, Plumstead Christian 0 >> Jenkintown went on the road and picked up a BAL shutout victory.
