Gallagher’s career-high leads Sacred Heart
Kathryn Gallagher’s big game helped Sacred Heart roll to a 44-23 basketball victory over Interboro Saturday.
The junior guard scored a career-high 20 points and came away with seven steals for the Lions, who outscored the Bucs, 27-11, in the second half.
Bella O’Toole contributed eight points for Sacred. Aniya Boland led the Bucs with nine points.
In other nonleague action:
Methacton 62, Penn Wood 33 >> The Patriots (5-4) couldn’t keep up with the Warriors, who sit fifth in the District 1 Class 6A power rankings. Ashley Cyrus posted 17 points and La’Shanda Smith recorded nine for the Patriots.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Notre Dame 91, Agnes Irwin 15 >> Katie Halligan was one of four Irish in double figures with 15 points.
All-Delco guard Maeve McErlane netted 14 points. Note Dame held a 31-2 advantage after eight minutes and led 54-4 at halftime. Annie Greek added 13 points and Caroline Kemp chipped in 12.
Episcopal Academy 50, SCHA 20 >> Balance on offense was key for the Churchwomen, who saw all 13 players score. Gaeli Keffer-Scharpf and Caroline McCreary led the way with six points apiece. Episcopal jumped out to a 13-0 advantage after one quarter.
In the Catholic League:
Archbishop Carroll 60, Conwell-Egan 27 >> The Patriots broke open a one-point game at the end of the first quarter by outscoring Egan, 37-16, in the middle periods.
Junior Maggie Grant scored a personal-best 22 points, and freshman Brooke Wilson had her best offensive performance with 14 points. All-Delco Grace O’Neill registered 11 points and seven steals, while Karli Dougherty paired four points with a game-high eight rebounds for the Patriots (5-1).
West Catholic 63, Cardinal O’Hara 62 >> The Lions lost a heartbreaker on the road to the reigning Cathoilic League champions.
Maggie Doogan produced 23 points and 13 rebounds for O’Hara (3-3). Siobhan Boylan added 12 points and seven assists, while Annie Welde and Sydni Scott had seven points each.
In the Central League:
Springfield 60, Penncrest 37 >> The league-leading Cougars stayed perfect this season. Senior guards Alexa Abbonizio (three steals) and Rachel Conran (eight rebounds, four assists) scored 21 points each.
Lower Merion 42, Radnor 23 >> Bridget McCann powered the Aces to victory with a game-high 14 points.
Cierra Hopson paced Radnor with 10 points.
