Reporter/Times Herald Field Hockey: Kountroubis’ last-second goal gives North Penn win over CB South

North Penn 2, Central Bucks South 1 >> Eleni Kountroubis knocked in a rebound with three seconds left in the fourth quarter, the late winner in Thursday’s SOL Colonial Division contest snapping North Penn’s two-game losing streak.

Erin O’Donnell gave the Knights (2-2-0, 2-2-0 division) a 1-0 lead at 9:10 in the first quarter while Alyssa Endrick pulled Central Bucks South (1-2-1, 1-2-1) even at 5:22 in the second quarter.

NP goalkeeper Mallory Stowell had eight saves with Ali Hoffman and Bay Detweiler each making a defensive save for the Knights. Titans goalie Gwen DiPrinzio stopped six shots.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 12, Abington 2 >> Abington led 2-1 before two Ava Borkowski goals put Plymouth Whitemarsh up 3-2 after a quarter and the Colonials rolled from there to stay undefeated.

Borkowski finished with six goals while Kaleigh Missimer recorded three goals and two assists for PW (4-0-0, 4-0-0 SOL Liberty), which tallied a dozen goals for the second time this season.

Molly Lynch scored twice, Hailey Copestick handed out three assists while Regan Gehman also had a goal for the Colonials, who led 8-2 at halftime. Alexa DeLucca and Carley McGee each collected an assist.
