O’Hara girls rout Central, capture District 12 6A title
Cardinal O’Hara had its 3-point shot working in Wednesday’s District 12 Class 6A championship game.
The Lions made nine triples en route to a 68-41 shellacking of Central High of the Philadelphia Public League.
With the win, the Lions will be the No. 1 seed from District 12 in the PIAA Class 6A tournament, which gets under way next weekend. The Lions will look to build upon last season’s run that ended in the quarterfinal round.
Leading the way in Wednesday’s victory were junior guard Amaris Baker and sophomore guard/forward Maggie Doogan. Baker went for 16 points and Doogan produced 15 points.
Sydni Scott tossed in nine points on three 3-pointers for O’Hara.
