Reporter Boys Basketball: Souderton moves to 3-0; Dock Mennonite rolls in BAL opener
Dominic Natale paced the Souderton boys basketball team with 20 points as the Indians built a 38-22 halftime lead then held off visiting Great Valley in the second half to stay unbeaten with a 68-58 nonleague win Tuesday.
Jason Price finished with 19 points for the Indians (3-0) while Jack Towsen and Brian Reiner each added nine points.
Julian Steinbrenner scored a game-high 22 points for Great Valley with the Patriots getting 13 points from both Josh Stehle and Will Frederick.
Dock Mennonite 77, Collegium Charter 46 >> Darius Ellis recorded a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds and was one of four Dock Mennonite players in double figure as the Pioneers routed BAL newcomer Collegium Charter in the league opener for both sides.
Steve Martin finished with 17 points for Dock (2-1, 1-0 BAL Presidents). Ralph Saint-Fleur collected 12 points and seven assists while Devon Jainlett had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Central Bucks East, 60, Council Rock South 40 >> Central Bucks East’s Chris Charlton collected 20 points and eight rebounds and the Patriots made 13 3-pointers in rolling past Council Rock South.
Jason Markowitz had 12 points, Joe Jackman recorded 10 points while Jack Hamilton finished with eight points, five rebounds and four blocks for East (2-1). Jack Rebholz’s nine points led CR South (1-2).
The Christian Academy 78, Jenkintown 51 >> The Christian Academy led 32-28 at halftime before blowing open the contest in the third, outscoring Jenkintown 27-9 to win the BAL opener for the both teams.
Jourdan Greene and Grant Sareyka both had 17 points for TCA (2-1, 1-0 BAL Constitution).Jadan Welch scored a game-high 20 points for the Drakes (0-3, 0-1 BAL Constitution).
