Rustin will play final 3 home games on its own field after 2 are moved due to neighbors’ concerns
WESTTOWN >> There will be football under the lights at West Chester Rustin this season, after all.
While this week’s home game against Kennett has been moved to Unionville, and the next one will be played at Henderson, the final three home regular season games will indeed be played at Rustin, according to a revised home football schedule obtained by Pa. Prep Live.
A compromise has apparently been reached between the school and neighbors who are concerned about too many home games being played under the lights.
Rustin administrators either declined to comment or did not respond when reached Thursday.
There have been complaints from some in the neighborhood surrounding the school that Rustin went over the 20 event limit that was in the original agreement when the the stadium lights were installed.
This Friday’s home game against Kennett will be played at Unionville, and the next home game against Avon Grove on September 20 will be played at West Chester Henderson.
But, starting on September 27, the Golden Knights will play under the lights at 7 p.m. The September 27 game against Coatesville, the October 11 game against Unionville and the October 18 home game against West Chester East will all be played at Rustin at 7 p.m.
