Jordan Brown had a goal in the first half while Abby Roesing scored after halftime off a Maddie Gregory assist as the Hatboro-Horsham field hockey team shut out Upper Dublin 2-0 for an SOL American Conference win Wednesday.
Morgan Kirby made one save for the Hatters (1-1-0, 1-0-0 conference). Rhianna Gonzales stopped four shots for UD (1-1-0, 0-1-0).
Springfield-Montco 4, Abington 1 >> Ella Marino scored two goals in the first half then finished the hat trick with 2:19 left in the second half as Springfield opened its season with an SOL American victory.
Anya Kochanowicz had the other goal for the Spartans (1-0-0, 1-0-0 conference). Madison Jenkins scored for Abington (0-2-0, 0-1-0).
Souderton 4, North Penn 0 >> Souderton scored three of its goals before halftime — two coming from Anna Gwiadzinski — as the Indians began SOL Continental play with a shutout win over visiting North Penn.
Courtney Kenah and Lauren Kenah both finished with a goal and assist for Souderton (3-0-0, 1-0-0). Mallory Stowell made 10 saves for the Knights (0-2-0, 0-1-0), who also got a defensive save from Linsey Gilbert. Indians goalie Jordan Michalak had nine saves.
Dock Mennonite 6, Plumstead Christian 0 >> Kate Landis had a pair of goals and Dock Mennonite scored four times after halftime to pull away to earn its first win of the season. Elle Bergey had two assists for the Pioneers (1-1-0, 1-0-0 Bicentennial)
